The 19th Annual GLAAD Media Awards

Here is the report we promised you after we returned from NYC and the GLAAD Media Award event. Due to weather, delayed luggage, and mechanical problems, we were a whole day late arriving home and then I had to work the rest of the week.

The GLAAD event was a “once in a lifetime” evening with about 2,000 people in attendance. We met so many wonderful people, including Judy Shepard, mother of murdered college student, Matthew Shepard.

Barbara Walters accepted an award on her piece called My Secret Self: A Story of Transgender Children which aired last year on 20/20.

For The Bible Tells Me So was the recipient of the GLAAD award for Best Documentary, and Kevin Bacon announced the award!

Because of the generous donations of several of our supporters, we were able to be at the awards dinner, along with Dan Karslake and his partner, Russ, Helen Mendoza, Bob Greenbaum (both producers/directors of the film), Gene Robinson, Mel White, and Phil, Randi, and Jake Reitan.

It was definitely a night to remember and it would have been impossible for us to go without your faithful support of our ministry.

“Thank you” does not seem adequate for this wonderful evening. But thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

With our love and appreciation,
Mary Lou and Bob
